Even as a single person, I would always want 2 cars if I could afford it, nothing worse than car troubles and having to deal with potentially not having transportation, even if only for a day or two. With two cars, if one doesn't start, you hop in the other and deal with the problem in a day or few, when you have more time.
You kinda need to start both cars regularly or they'll have issues starting later on. If I was a single person, I wouldn't want 2 cars because there will be times I will leave stuff in one car and then use the other car only to realise I need the stuff in car 1. Plus there's the cost of keeping both gas tanks semi topped up
