I saw absolutely nothing from her at any point in the show that impressed me or caused me to respect her skill as an actress. You keep insisting that she's "oh so good" but I disagree.
There were plenty of scenes where she was annoying, though.
The whole thing of her selling Ciri out to the witch to get her powers back was poorly acted, start to finish. The writing was lame but her performance in terms of making any of it believable was also poor.
Go ahead and provide your evidence for scenes where she supposedly blew you away with her acting skills.
I can explain this as well, part of the problem with these modern iterations of franchises is how they insert these fucking millennial age actors into everything and it's extremely off putting. I looked at the book of boba fett as an example the stupid millennial biker gang is so obnoxious and they didn't even do the bikes all that convincingly because they didn't have a speck of sand on them despite being on a desert planet.
You've got all these actors being serious and Boba Fett in their with his dust covered, appropriately torn up, grimy armour then there's these fucking comical millennials looking like they just came out of starbucks and bought some hover bikes fresh out of the factory. Their outfits as well look like they're ready for a larp at comicon and that's barely convincing as well.
Yen was always a pretty shit person. The only times she's ever been redeemable was with Ciri. Her reasonable actions toward Geralt where entirely fabricated due to that stupid wish. It essentially forced her to be more sympathetic. Hell, she only respected Ciri because she saw herself in her. God knows what atrocities she would have gotten involved with if she didn't have a forced love interest.
