I would agree that the exogenous testosterone in a female would be obvious.
But every medical lab test relies on comparing it to an accepted lab reference range.
As opposed to most other hormone levels and other metrics that can be performed whenever, testosterone is notoriously finicky and untrustworthy unless done just right.

That's actually interesting. At least there's an explanation beyond "they're lying about her being trans" that can be considered.
