Wow. I didn’t think it’d be that high. I expected something like NPR where they get a very small amount of their money from the government and being flagged as government was technically true but functionally meaningless. (For the record, I didn’t agree with NPR being flagged as a government mouthpiece. During the Trump era they were VERY anti-Trump. If they’re owned by anyone, it’s the Democrats, but not necessarily the government.)
The government isn't a singular entity. They can be anti-Trump during Trump's reign and entirely owned by the government. Shit being anti-Trump was basically a requirement for nearly all areas of media and government, regardless of him actually being president.
At this point, basically all the Liberal media, and most of the Right Wing, should be labelled Government Funded. Because they literally are.
Basically the government (only a part of the larger "state") is the uniparty, the intelligence agencies, and their bureaucratic monkeys. Most presidents are tools.
Excuse me, LIAR- the CBC only receives >$1b/yr in gov funding! They also make about $500/yr from advertising so that's like totally irrelevant or something.
Quite something for Justin Trudeau to call CBC an "independent media organization" when its entire existence is dependent on government. Also, rich for him to condemn attacks on the media when that's his go-to for any negative stories about him.
Here's CBC's own financial statements: https://twitter.com/coinbureau/status/1647834992934879232
70.6% gov funding.

Welcome to Canadian media.
The lefties are complaining, but the only valid complaint is that it isn't labeled state controlled media: https://twitter.com/ezralevant/status/1647569086417715201
How corrupt is the CBC? Look at their four-person panel on the Trudeau Foundation:
Who produced this segment? Gerald Butts?
This panel represents the entire political spectrum, from A to B.
No-one west of Toronto or east of Montreal. No-one to the right of Trudeau. 100% Laurentian elite.
All the hair dye in the world won't make that tired old crew look fresh.
Of course CBC rage quit Twitter: https://archive.is/LwKPL
How dare twitter go around labelling government-funded media as government-funded! This is an outrage!

Ah yes, they were fine with it when it was RT, but now it's an affront to journalistic freedom
Good. It's about time.
Youtube also labels cbc government funded.
but the communists know that twitter is an easy target
