not gonna participate in this particular debate but fyi, I've recently heard that the whole "Greeks were gay" idea is mostly bunk. just leftist revisionism, like many other things you think you know.
What I've heard is that it was just late empire Greeks. I don't know if it's true, but it does seem like something that happens to dying empires.
