If Asians are thorn between DeSantis and Trump then they are morons. Either of those options are good and Asians are not dumb, I don't think the nominee will have much of an impact on how the Asians vote.
Trump really rubs educated suburban voters the wrong way. Most Asians are highly educated when compared to the general populace.
It is not about policy. It is an issue about temperament and general vibes.
Trump gives off massive brash stubbornness and chaos vibes and that is not appealing at all to educated voters. This same set of vibes is somehow appealing to blue-collar voters. A lot of politics is based on emotions and vibes.
Horrifyingly I know people IRL with this exact attitude. "We should burn this fucking country to the ground before we let Trump into office a second time." - Actual quote. Asked him why, and instead of answering he just rolled his eyes and went off on me for being a Trump supporter and "you're smarter than that."
Go look at previous Republican nominee margins in educated suburbs like Tarrant county in Texas and you will learn that Trump performed the worst in educated and previously solid red suburbs of any GOP nominee in the last 30 years.
Calling people pussies doesn't solve this critical problem.
Trump alienates educated voters like no other. He does good with blue collar voters but that alone is not enough to win these days. We sadly need more suburban voters than Trump is capable of securing.
We can get a larger coalition of voters as soon as Trump is not the GOP nominee.
Most Asians have college degrees and they generally think Trump is a lowbrow moron and very unintelligent.
DeSantis would definitely do better with Asians and any educated voters regardless of race.

>vote to destroy the country because you get "bad vibes" from the other guy
Highly educated behavior indeed
COVID really outed your average college grad as a gullible hysteric.

It appealed to all my college educated peers who weren't raving lunatic lefties.
Maybe it doesn't appeal to pussies.

Trump got the largest collection of voters, for a Republican, in decades. You're fucking delusional.
Did he manage to secure a second term?
No.
I don't want to hear your coping to avoid the reality of the situation.
He wasn't able to win with incumbency advantage, he has since burned more bridges than ever before.
He would need to get more votes than in 2020 to win in 2024.
Impossible for him to do that.
