I told you all it was a bullshit case.
Apparently he was charged back in 2020 and it went completely unreported for 3 years. Then it finally got reported recently and he got fired.
Anyway it's obvious that his accuser either wasn't cooperating or was otherwise a terrible unreliable witness. The DA finally had to either shit or get off the pot, and they backed down.
Which almost never happens, by the way. The DA almost never dismisses a case. Instead, they will plea it down to something super small and wrist slap you, but if you demand it be dropped altogether, they'll balk and get offended. That outcome was forced here because Roiland could correctly point to a reputational reason to take the case to trial, and the DA realized that she'd lose and get embarrassed at trial.
I wish this happened more, but I just want you all to know that in 99% of cases like this, the DA just lowers the penalty until the accused feels like they have no choice but to take the deal.
