One of my best friends (known him since I was 11) has it, and he spent the entirety of his teens half crippled and in and out of hospital having surgeries to unfuck his bones.
He's mostly ok now, though he still walks kind of unevenly and he gets tired easily. It's depressing to think that he'll probably be dead before we hit retirement age, but what can you do?
At least dwarves get a life with the ADA and government to assist them. It's probably better for them than it's ever been. At least in America we are not trying to slaughter them for their gold. We haven't truly beat nature yet.
