There's a very simple humanistic reason not to murder tribemates, and it's in line with the naturalist argument: random murder of in-group members hurts both your own, and your tribal units (be that the family, the extended family, or the entire tribe) ability to survive. Loss of skills and knowledge, less hands to do work, animosity from other tribe members (since great apes are generally social species), etc.

This is hilariously flawed logic that has never tracked in human history, just as you said “tribe mates” might not kill each other in a very small setting due to survival need, now make that case in a New York sized city, or people of another “tribe”. Your naturalist argument actually dictates that the inherent murder of anyone not of your culture/ ethnicity is necessary to maintain your own “tribes” advancement and proliferation.

Oh, and before I forget, "killing humans" is such a fucktarded attempt at a gotcha. Ever single godbothering novelization, especially the judeo-christian sects you are so fond of, are absolutely riddled with "and then god said 'kill those guys over there' or "and then god killed those guys over there" or "and then god said 'kill those guys over there while I kill these guys over here'".
