Religion is good for a majority of people because they're too stupid and evil otherwise. this is the reason why the left does what it does, because they're a bunch of fucking "atheists" that still want religion. So what do they do? they worship the State, and they worship "Science" like it's fucking God.
It's better to corral those subhuman retards, and those midwits suffering from Dunning-Kruger Syndrome, and make them all worship something that will be a better moral good for society than godless, immoral insanity that is Leftism and Communism.
That's just replacing the tyranny of the retard majority with the age-old tyranny of the priests who know whats best for the people, and damn anyone who disagrees.
At least when the retards try to run things on their own authority, it's inherently fallible and open to challenge. Add in a divine mandate, and you pave a path of very low resistance to a stagnant culture that exists entirely to perpetuate itself "as god wills it".
Unless you somehow got people to worship an abstract concept like "knowledge" or "discovery" and actively prohibit a priest class, this solution is worse then the problem.

I agree with most of what you're saying, but I'd say people aren't naturally "evil," they're just naturally "not good." It's an important distinction.
