I feel as though if we're going to play God, we might aswell go for the gusto and do extremely inhumane things in the name of getting to that point rather than stopping at giving Bill and Steve a kid to ruin.
I 100% believe that the Ubermensch is coming the moment he is possible and I 100% support it. It doesn't matter who tries to stop it. All it takes is China or North Korea doing it first, then the whole world would have to follow or else be utterly subjugated.
It just isn't possible and will not be possible unless and until scientists can develop a process to edit human DNA that is extremely precise and error-free. We are nowhere near that yet, and given the extremely small atomic scales of this editing, it is probably a long way off. Doing this kind of editing is much, much easier with shit like viruses (even the Chinese in Wuhan could do it!) because viruses are very simple and it doesn't matter if your method only works 1/1000 times.
We also need a much better understanding of the genetic basis of human intelligence. It isn't like hair or eye color, it is an extremely complex interconnection of numerous factors. We will need to have accurate intelligence testing better than what we have now (possibly AI driven) and then feed those test results + DNA of the test taker into a giant AI database, and have an AI build a model of human intelligence based on that. Then we can keep making "maximum brainpower" men and feeding their results back into the AI until we reach the limits of human capacity. Of course other shit like height & physical attractiveness are child's play by comparison so those will be solved much sooner.
