the original videos of the performers exist and they are edited in to these settings.

Then produce them. It should be easy, since you make it sound like you've seen them.

Ah, so complete bullshit then?

I have no doubt that as technology improves we're going to see more and more fake video out there, but you can't just hand wave away videos that you don't like without actually proving that they're fake.
