Didn’t Denzel win an Oscar? Or Hattie McDaniel?
I’d love to do a rewatch of Gargoyles because I was watching other things when it was on. I wouldn’t trust Peele to do it. He seems like the type that could have some good ideas if he could shut up about race and gender. His twilight zone got praise for doing an episode about a white cop shooting a black kid (how original), mocking trump, and an immigration allegory which spouts the usual talking points. I was already sick of race stuff when Get Out came out and felt that movie was overrated
It's unfortunate and disappointing but it was the original creator (writer, director) of Gargoyles who personally picked Peele of all people for the remake thing.
Also, not animated (beyond CGI), because of course.
The last movie of his I saw was US. I don't get the hype about this guy. Well, I know they will usually over hype anyone who checks a box and he can't shut up about race. I did hear Nope wasn't bad but I have yet to see it.
Nope is below average, Us is horrendous, and Get Out is boring, predictable black fantasy/masturbation and projection over imagined white inferiority. Peele is an overrated racist fuck who makes C-tier Oscar-bait trash.
Yet he is treated like he is the modern day Hitchcock. The guy can't shut up about racism and is obsessed with checking boxes.
His Twilight Zone reboot was laughed out of the room. Nice they don't talk about it.
It got cancelled so that made me happy. I love the original TZ and really enjoyed the 80s and 02 version. Critics loved Peele’s TZ because he touched upon the same woke talking points.
The utter racial bent of their scripts was sickening.
Not shocked by that Greg Weisman is a lefty cuck. His Young Justice show was chock full of that shit.
I don't see this one but was a HUGE Gargoyles fan at the time. Actually I've seen it only in German at first (where at first means years), and I didn't even speak German nor at first even knew as much as the episode order (and didn't have all of them taped off from RTL1 and then I think RTL2), so I made a headcanon storyline before I learnt the real one from the early internet lol
Peele got where he was doing a sketch comedy show with a guy who was way funnier than he was. Wherein half the jokes were about how dumb ghetto blacks are, and how both are half white and married white women.
Why he thought he could then pivot into horror/seriousness and also talk about racial issues in the slightest is beyond me. Especially as those second facts would absolutely get him trashed by his woke sycophants if they were widely known.
Like, despite being pretty charcoal looking he is basically the least black you can be (minus his father walking out). Dude has a college major in puppetry for fuck's sake.
Neither would I.
Despite the fact that he knows better, he has shown that he is happy jump on the blame whitey train when it benefits him.
Yeah the original was top tier content.
This is going to be a travesty.
His Twilight Zone show was superficial BLM-themed garbage. The entire Twilight Zone revival was a feminist-diversity racket.
This dude is a mouth-breather who makes content chiefly for white liberal-progressives. The same demographic he lampoons in 'Get Out' (read: Get Lost).
No arguments from me
I think normies are tired of hearing how "historic" it is for black people and trannies to be employed.
Also, not black. Biracial.
He became the (first) black person and then has been ever since.
Gargoyles, that cartoon with Jonathan Frakes?
Yeah, that one. Hero named Goliath and villain named David.
Ah shit I never even noticed. I just remember them calling him XANATOS all the time.
It's rarely stated, but yeah--first name David, last name Xanatos.
There were a LOT of Star Trek actors in it, including Marina Sirtis as Demona, and Brent Spiner as Puck.
I don't know the voice actors to be honest. I only know Goliath was voiced by Keith David, whom I only know as the one hard nigger on the trigger in Platoon (https://m.media-amazon.com/images/M/MV5BNTU3ZWNiNjItMzRkOC00MzQwLTk2MjctMjFjZjBkZDJjMWE5XkEyXkFqcGdeQXVyNjU5MjcxOTg@.V1.jpg).
Platoon is one of my favorite movies of all time and it's a real shame what happened to Oliver Stone when he started to idolize and hang out with Castro and Chavez, and Putin after these 2 died. Like a reverse hero worship journey of the Platoon protagonist (which might be religiously allegorical: https://youtube.com/watch?v=oJ-DcMhzylc), except Stone lost his way (and maybe also just his marbles, he's old and dementia is a bitch).
