Rush wasn't even much of a right-winger, but he was entertaining and broke a lot of people out of the default normie-lib cage that mainstream media had corralled us into.
That hated him because he was super effective.
If Rush was as bad as they said, he couldn't have appeared on bunches of liberal TV shows in the 00s/early 10s.
He was basic as they come, just very passionately loud about it. Which appealed to the Fox news watching old folks who want to complain but not work at any issues.
Ive been calling Russell Brand the 21st Century Rush Limbaugh, if that clues some zoomers in on how not-far right Rush is
