Fortunately, the UK government has lost SO much internal credibility that the can't do this as it's career suicide. The media and politicians are trying desperately to sell this to the public while the public at large seem to respond with a collective 'fuck em, let them rot in the sand'

It might happen if a Labour government happens but even that's up in the air as it's looking like there will be an extreme minority government or even a hung parliament.
