Then you'll be relieved to know that if you are ever imprisoned for your social and/or political beliefs everyone involved in the process will have sworn an oath to the US and the US Constitution.
The people matter way more than the form. I haven't seen much in the past few years that gives me much hope in the people. The exception being 1/6, and a bunch of those guys are being fucked over by a bunch of people who all swore loyalty oaths to the US and US Constitution*.
*Bunch of 1/6-ers did too. People who all swore oaths to the same principle on opposing sides: hmm...
I can be very idealistic and super optimistic but I know what you are saying. 1/6 continues to pods me off because of the punishments given as well as the media treating it like it’s the worst thing to ever happen in the history of the universe. Like we didn’t just experience rioting and looting that was cheered on by media and corporations
Did the public swearing of an oath of allegiance to Canada actually make your "paper Canadians" more loyal to Canada? I know here in the US it doesn't.
In practice these loyalty oaths are effectively oaths of allegiance to the politicians. Do you really want these people swearing what are effectively oaths of allegiance to Trudeau?
Yeah in theory they're supposed to be oaths to "the Constitution" or whatever, but did the cops busting your truckers' skulls last year only do that after a detailed review of the Canadian constitution and applicable case law? Or did they do that because they wanted their paycheck and pension and their boss told them to do it?

Honestly if you click like too many times Facebook restricts you. So it's even easier than hitting like on Facebook.
But there is something to be said about swearing an oath to your new country publicly
Then you'll be relieved to know that if you are ever imprisoned for your social and/or political beliefs everyone involved in the process will have sworn an oath to the US and the US Constitution.
Well when I joined the military I took it seriously to the constitution. I get what you are saying but I guess I’m being naive.

Canada is speed running the decline.

Good news! Canadians can sign up for state-assisted suicide online as well. What glorious times we live in.
didn't mean anything anyway
How long before they simply remove citizenship digitally...oh, wait.
