*I actually did this on accident a few times, because some Playboy articles sans graphics were cataloged by the ProQuest periodical database the county library subscribed to. I may have even cited one as a source for a high school paper.
Didn't Playboy serialize some well-known sci-fi? I want to say a couple of Ray Bradbury's works first appeared there.
You can add that to the list of publications that were eventually debased by as well as participants in the anti-intellectual zeitgeist. Not the modern auto-fart-sniffing self-proclaimed intellectuals, but the habit of regular people engaging in conscious thought.
