It's a controversial take but I agree that 16 year olds have sexual/romantic agency. At the very least it's weird that people act like it's in the same ballpark as prepubescents. We have age of consent laws for good reason but it's stupid when people think 17 years and 364 days is magically different from 18 years.
But they're still young and inexperienced, and relationships with significant age gaps can be predatory.
Plus, Roiland was creepy as fuck in his messages with her.
Well things like that are why we used to have things like parental approval and communal shunning to vet and dissuade the older party from trying anything abusive.
But now we have no communities, and god forbid any girl actually have a father let alone him having the ability to veto her dating a guy. All that was discarded.

Those numbers aren't absolute which is the entire point of the AoC being set at 18. There are some who will have started and finished puberty before they are 10. They will be outliers but it happens. Conversely late development can mean even those who are 18 and over may not yet have finished going through puberty.
So laws attempt to come up with a number that works for almost all cases however life being the crazy box of frogs that it is "finds a way" to cause trouble.

Same. Once I was out HS and no longer had to keep my faceshaved I went full caveman and haven't looked back.
For extra numbery fuckery [not that kind, calm down] the way leap years work someone can be 17 years and 367 days old and still not be legally 18.
