Nothing about Rick & Morty is "male feminist" and in that train episode they even made fun of women a lot.
Idk where all this Roiland hate on the right comes from. The dude is an entertainment genius.
And I don't change my barometer for right and wrong based on the individual politics of the victim. Roiland got done dirty by some hoes and libtard society canceled him. Fuck that. I stand with him as a man, regardless of his politics.
After the whole Szechuan sauce thing it became popular for bloggers to openly shit on Rick and morty fans for like a year or two. Real mean spirited stuff. They were essentially the like white men of fandoms for a while and it was acceptable, if not outright encouraged, to constantly complain about how terrible they were. Roiland and Harmon were happy to do press tours with these same blogs at the time and they made zero attempts to defend their fans. Worse, they made a big show of hiring on female writers to try and appeal to these same bloggers. The shows appealing at a surface level but if you paid attention im real time they like fully outed themselves as typical “Hollywood” guys.
That's a legitimate criticism, plus I think like someone else said, that's probably Dan Harmon driving that, not Roiland. Roiland is more the "talent" and Harmon runs the business side.
I think people get him confused with Harmon, who is every stereotype they keep associating with Roiland of male feminist.
Roiland is just an actual degenerate given a lot of power. I'll defend him on the "women shouldn't be able to end your existence on a whim" principle, but I don't think he is a good person or ever has been.
how is he a degenerate? because he flirted with an internet thot in text messages? what straight male who actually had a dating life hasn't done that?
it's not like he was sending out dick pics or anything, or raping anyone.
Because he created an animation entirely centered around a young boy licking an old man's bloody, disgusting ball sack to time travel. Sometimes stroking him off while doing it. Not a singular joke, the only joke. Repeated multiple times, with the full visual of the act.
You know, the animated short that got him that massive TV show in the first place. Not everyone only just started paying attention to him the moment he went mainstream, like apparently you did.
To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to enjoy Rick and Morty, which is why you do and the rest of us don't.
I would too (although with Schadenfreude), except that I think grooming 16-year-olds is actually bad.
To be fair, you have to be pretty lame to quote an old copypasta which became the Current Thing on reddit for like a week in 2017 because some fat guy recorded himself sperging out in a mcdonalds over szechuan sauce and the idiots online responded with "oh yes, this is an accurate representation of all fans of a given show that I don't like".
He didn't groom anyone.
The person you are referring to was not 16.
Guilty as charged. You just found out that I am lame?
LOL. Thanks for reminding me of that. That was awesome.
No? What's this about then?
It's about him getting charged in OC, CA with some kind of domestic violence against an ex girlfriend in January 2020, exactly 3 years ago and right at the limit of the 3 year felony statute of limitations in California, which means the OCDA probably got the report a long time ago, deemed it not sufficiently credible or supported by evidence to prosecute, and decided not to prosecute, then flipped recently when twitter got mad at him and some prosecutor thought she could grab some headlines.
Dude got guilty until proven innocent & fired based on mere allegations.
I can tell you with confidence the charges are bullshit purely based on the fact that they waited until the 3 year mark. If the charges were not bullshit, they would have charged him immediately in Jan/Feb 2020. It's not like they need time to "gather evidence" in a domestic violence case.
Crazy bitches routinely make false claims when they are jilted or feel like a dude wronged them somehow.
Some of the most wildly inventive sci-fi I've ever seen.
