Skip to 27m for some sanity. This is probably my favorite gaming podcast and based Michelle has some epic rants - this time she goes off on the left's sacred cow of content warnings.

Wish they didn't talk over each other, but they're right. Arachnophobes are some of the most irritating pussies out there. I'd be understanding if they were only afraid of spiders they see in real life (but I'd have to suggest that your irrational fear is something you need to learn to deal with because it's not healthy), but they are always, always, always whining about depictions of spiders in images, movies, and games. Grow the fuck UP and learn to separate reality from fiction already, and stop expecting everyone else to coddle you.
I'm no arachnophobe, but I do live in Australia. A reasonable mix of fear and respect is in order.
Vidya spideys worry me far less than the redback living on my garage door. And even she doesn't worry me as long as I don't go bothering her.
They’re malicious assholes getting off on their ability to manipulate people.
It is honestly one of those things I dont get. IRL, I have a fear of heights and a fear of flying. In a huge twist of irony, I became interested in air warfare as a history, and got interested in flight games like Ace Combat and War Thunder as a result. My fear of flying is a non-issue to my enjoyment, and not even VR would be an issue.
There's science that shows that fear of spiders and snakes doesn't decay over time like other fears. There's something hardcoded in the brain so if you were traumatized by them then you'll have to actively confront your fears or they'll stay the same or get worse.
Of course those with spider/snake phobia should either deal with it or shut up, not be coddled.
Yeah, came here to say that too. Also, the dude on the other side of the argument is obnoxious. And comparing spiders to epilepsy/seizures is retarded.
Seriously though, the podcast format is pretty annoying in my opinion.
Imp will love this. Girl says she's afraid of spiders and when she sees one she calls for a dude to handle it, but says people should toughen up and 'be a man'.
In the few minutes I could stand their screeching nobody said the actual important point that spiders in a game desensitized those with phobias. Removing it to protect those with phobias actually hurts them by removing a way to confront their fear.
Trying to remove disinformation, "misinformation", and "hate speech" from the Internet has the same effect.
