I've never understood the friend comments. DW tried to fuck him but he's supposed to still be friendly with them?
They made it clear they don't actually give a fuck about fighting big tech like they claim and he's supposed to be friendly.
Jeremy and Ben keep lying through their teeth and he's supposed to be friendly.
That's come cuckold thinking
Funnily enough Gerald used the "you put sleeping with my wife in the contract but it's just business" line. They were telling Crowder to be their 5 cent hooker but they're totally friends.
Plus, there are friends and then there are friends. My guess is that Crowder was friendly to Boreing and would chat with him on occasion, do collabs with DW shows, etc. but he would never actually hang out with Boreing outside of a professional relationship. I wouldn't call that a real friendship. Destroying a work relationship and destroying a personal relationship are two different things.
Plus its hypocritical for the DW crew to cry about betraying a friendship over publicizing the phone call and terms sheet, but the usurious contract is just business, why you mad bro.
Boreing's was Crowder's friend like a 50 year old gay man is a 'friend' to a 12 year old; to him friendship means grooming. Boreing was acting 'friendly' in hopes of tricking Crowder into an abusive, exploitive relationship.
You can see it in his manipulative response about how Crowder hurt his feelings so much and how difficult it was for his 'friendship' to be rejected - who gives a fuck about Boreing's feelings?
It was to try and discredit the Jeremy phone call where Jeremy admitted to being a scumbag via his business practices. “You don’t record friends!” The circlejerk handwringing just got blown out by what crowder presented.
Jeremy and Steven were acquaintances, not friends.
Friend != acquaintance.
There is a degree of depth to these relationship descriptors, with friend denoting a deeper relationship than acquaintance. Co-workers we see every day and have friendly relationships with are acquaintances, if one of those coworkers would take a bullet for you, they are a friend.

Plus crowder himself said he did not want to name who it was. Why did they have to go into defence mode instead of leaving it on the table?

Yeah I understand that. I'm just not sure why people think friendships last even after a knife in the back.
