What is it with this nonsense? John Cena said he was told not to read Peacemaker comic books and she is told not to play the game?

Because they don't want them to ask question/make trouble about going off canon. And if someone asks them "Is it accurate" in a press interview you don't want them to list differences between canon and the current thing.
