I speak french. French nouns have different forms depending on the context. Sometimes it's appropriate to use the 'masculine' form and sometimes it's appropriate to use the 'feminine' form. It has nothing to do with woke nonsense, it's just proper grammar.
Could be worse really, at least the French are not playing with making a gendered language neutral like with German even though 80% of the population hates shit like this. Pope is Papst in German, I haven't seen them do with with Papst but if they did it would be Papst*in, yes a fucking star in a word.
To give an example that is actually used by some of those retards: Teacher=Lehrer, female form is Lehrerin, they make it Lehrer*innen. It's fucking nuts and far worse than the Latinx shit because it's used a lot by gender ideologues and the state. If I ever hear anyone use it I correct them on the stop, it's not correct German. Thankfully there's organisations fighting against it, mostly those that want to preserve the language and not make it retarded.
I think the point is more that *there has been no "officially recognised" female Pope, so having a female form of the noun, even in French, is redundant...
Gendered language, yes, but it does not make sense to have a female form, in this case.
If we were to argue that there were female Popes, or could be, then yes...

I speak Spanish and we have the same, but Pope is only Papa and there's no female version.

Oh... I guess I was wrong.
It's a gendered language... am I missing something here?

I'm offended, they left off "Pxpx" for non-binary popes. Is Google really so bigoted they are telling me that the pope can't be non-binary?
Jumpy aren’t we?
>dipshit OP doesn't understand that other languages having gendered terms is the norm
