Perfectly stated.
This is what I am talking about.
The world has different standards for the left versus the right because the left has succeeded in institutional capture of every major institution.
The right cannot emulate the left in having major politicians associating with people like Farrakhan and expect to win anything.
The right has a problem where they are so starved for a celebrity to affirm their values that they prematurely latch on to any degenerate who blinks twice at the right.
The retarded House GOP twitter account deleted the tweet now but two weeks ago they had a tweet saying that the three people who define the new Republican party are Kanye West, Elon Musk and Donald Trump. Fucking idiots to prematurely say stupid shit like this.
The right is awful at optics. Optics unfortunately do matter when the fucking left has a stranglehold over every major institution.
You don't understand how to win.
You need good optics to win.
You need to win in order to push your policies.
You can push real conservative policy AFTER you get elected.
The path forward is to run candidates as a reasonable conservative and then have them govern as a full conservative.
You foolishly want your candidates to reveal their power levels too soon and not get elected at all.
Then you'll never win. The media painted Mitt fucking Romney as some sort of racist woman hating Nazi. You will never find a candidate that they won't smear.
I didn't say perfect optics.
We need people who don't shoot themselves in the dick by hanging out with Nick Fuentes or Kanye West.
The media will always try to smear Republicans but that doesn't mean you make it easy for them.
Romney was smeared so that means we should run idiots who purposely foster bad optics is not the lesson to be learned.
give an example of a politician that did that.... I can't think of one in my lifetime, but there have been tons of them that ran as moderates and governed like commies
Ron DeSantis is the example.
The man in 2018 ran as a Republican focused on cutting taxes and fostering environmental protection of the Florida Everglades. He got the base behind him by tying himself to then President Trump.
He ran as a moderate but governed as the best conservative governor in the nation.
By 2022, he was able to run as the most conservative governor.
The right is always going to have an optics problem, simply because the left uses its control of the media and all of our other cultural institutions to defame the right regardless of who they run, who they associate with, what they say, or what they do. The right could get better at not making the problem worse, but I'm not convinced the problem could be mitigated enough to improve our electoral outcomes (to the extent those matter anymore with the fraud problem being what it is). One reason I like DeSantis is because he's capable of fighting the media and our woke institutions without falling into every obvious trap they set for him. But now that all the bad actors are backing him to try to get rid of Trump and I feel dirty advocating for him despite my positive opinion of him.
Trump 2016 showed that people will rally around bringing jobs back and fixing immigration, and being attacked by the media won't stop it. Those two issues conflict with the interests of the GOP donors, and that's why the GOP struggles.
100%. The “right” failed to dominate the midterms because the GOP sabotaged multiple candidates and refuses to push election integrity. Optics had nothing to do with it.
It’s called “no enemies to the left, no friends to the right”. It’s been a well-known issue for decades.
