The algorithms are out there, the only issue is they're still very expensive and difficult to train from scratch. Requiring not just computing power but also massive amounts of data and engineering/testing.

But anyone who think they can "gatekeep" this tech for long is deluded. It's the internet so if it exist it's going to be used for porn, scams and shitposts whether you like it or not.
