All that being said, I've said for years that Trumps appointments were crap. This is because he trusted the Republican party not to fuck him over and kill the country, which is what they prefer. This is the case. It is not a "woe is me" issue. He literally is being attacked from all sides and all directions by every single establishmentarian in all parties, all places, and all organizations, at the same time. What he should have done was appoint loyalists. ... Which is why you are complaining about "weak candidates" in the first place. They would not have been loyal to Mitch McConnel, they would have been loyal to Trump, and you bought into the propaganda that no Trump appointment is capable of winning despite his own popularity, chief among republicans, and the fact that these candidates keep losing weeks after the election, from mail in ballots, in slim margins, after having been effectively defunded by the establishment.

He hasn't changed. I haven't noticed a change in his behavior since around 2018. Yes he's "softer" in his speeches... but he's been that way for years, I don't know how people didn't see this.
I see no evidence that Trump is poison to independent voters or suburban voters. His biggest weakness is unmarried suburban white women, many of whom are on the Trump Train due to issues involving schooling.
Because almost all of his nominations came from the Federalist Society, who are staunch Establishmentarian Republicans.

He will get slaughtered in all the swing states in a general election.
Trump being popular among the Republican base does not counter his fatal flaw of being absolute poison to independent voters and suburban voters.
