Everything I see about it, dumb ape might apply to the majority of the hundreds of people who thought it was a good idea to walk out on that bridge while it's crowded with people. It looks pretty flimsy to me.
Watching herd mentality manifest physically like this and in the South Korea Great Crush is just so disturbing to me.
I'll bet you could ask any of the survivors what they were thinking when they decided to go into an already overcrowded space, and they'd probably only be able to articulate "everybody else was doing it" because they were actually motivated by some primal urge that bypassed any rational thought.
