Well are we talking hermit like you don't go out much, or hermit like Uncle Ted? Because only the Uncle Ted option would truly be effective and most lack the ability to remain sane in such asocial environments. Nor would society/government allow that to be an option if more than a sparse handful did it.

The human condition is one of constant struggle, as it always has been. As technology has advanced to remove the physical struggles that kept us grounded in ages past, the struggle has become mental. Its not something you just "solve" or can create a perfect solution to. Its one that you deal with your own faults and weaknesses daily, finding a way to properly subdue them to make yourself not chained to them.

Funnily enough, its something Alcoholics Anonymous of all places figured out. I have a lot of issue with their methods, but that aspect is one that has allowed them to outdo most other rehabilitation methods. Same with some NoFap guys, though that's mostly in theory they have figured out a problem needing solved rather than their methods.
