From the article:
If anyone thinks the elites are just going to let everyone live a life of leisure for free, they are insane. The AI may take everyone's jobs but you're still going to be expected to pay for food, clothing, rent, etc. There just won't be as much work to earn that money because computers can do it cheaper and better.
A life of only leisure wouldn't be utopian. People with too much time often destroy themselves.
Source: John Calhoun's Rat Utopia experiment. An interesting read for those intrigued.
Note many of the similarities to modern society today: weak men, aggressive women, homosexuality.
Yeah, John Calhoun's Rat Utopia is interesting. But really, you don't need mice to see it. Just go visit an area where a lot of the locals live on welfare - an inner city ghetto, a trailer park, or in Europe, a gypsy/migrant ghetto. Don't forget to stay strapped. What do you see there? Leftoids keep saying that when people's basic needs are taken care of, they'll dedicate themselves to achieving higher levels of Maslow's pyramid of needs. When they're sheltered and fed, they'll work to uplift themselves and their communities, they'll be happy and they'll make beautiful art.
Meanwhile in reality? All you see in these areas is violence, drug abuse, and incest. And don't get me wrong, I'm an orthodox racist, but when a white person gets into the "social safety net" and doesn't get out within about 6 months to 2 years, depending on the individual's fortitude, it will destroy him and render him indistinguishable from any other ghetto rat, other than skin color. The "social net" is a perfect name for the concept: It's designed to trap you.
Liberals will claim that it's the violence, racism, or lack of opportunity preventing them from achieving the human ideal. The system is keeping them down. Of course liberalism is a mental disorder and I understand you were telling normal human beings to go observe those areas.
(I do wonder if simply handing out free dope to certain communities and walling them off wouldn't be the best option for the rest of society.)
It is not even the element of time. To human perception, the good does not exist without a foil to set it off.
Yeah, you got it. Another classic is "idle hands are the devil's playthings."
As story as old as time. Or just as old as Warhammer 40k
