I guess my idea of what is satanic in media is different to most people who've commented. I'm guessing you're trying to see some occult references, devil symbolism, rituals, that sort.. I see it as the destruction of what it means to be human, and the control system that ensures that while severing ties to a higher self/being/spirit/purpose, torture in a sense
Attack on Titan... you reminded me about that series. Thinking about it there are elements to it that are satanic in my view that might fit the other definition. The world has been placed into a system that feeds off of the suffering and continued torture of the people
Marley and Paradis have been told a false history that has controlled how they perceive and the world & respond to it. Going on for generations
Instead of looking within to achieve personal growth, everyone is always externalising hatred and blame, which only serves to further the lie. To further this control system of the mind
If you want to see the ritual element of the satanism portrayed in the series, the people of paradis are routinely assaulted by Titans sent from Marley. They have no knowledge of it, Marley has no knowledge that Paradis have forgotten the past. It's a vicious cycle of senseless slaughter, blood ritual
Then there is the child sacrificial ritual. In Paradis the Titans have made life so bad that done if the children (the protag group we follow) have no issue risking their life to fight off Titans. They willingly play along into the ritual. The higher ups in Paradis kind of knew the true history and still permit sending kids to be slaughtered despite that.
Then in Marley the children are even more brainwashed through historical guilt that they too are eager to give up their lives for the "greater good", to also participate in the mind control system so that it continues to function. Some want to become Titans, discarding their human selves, just so they get an edge in the blood ritual. The adults demand it or encourage it, for the sake of reparations and making peace
It's not all anime of course, but there are just some that stand out too much that I can't unsee it. The problem is that it's becoming normalised. When you're shown so many representations of a world that wants to break you, but to reject it means ostracism from society ... Would you be surprised or not bat an eye when that same kind of world is at your doorstep?
The literal Satanic Bible is a book. The Actual Literal Bible is a book as well, is it ruined by sharing that space with the other? I don't judge every book on it being in the same medium as the very foundational text of the entire Church of Satan, nor its numerous offshoots.
That's why I reject the entire premise you are trying to build. Because its based on reducing an entire medium of media/entertainment because a few are made in a way you consider degenerative.
So you just confirmed it for me. The No camp just see the book and just draw the links from the book. It's all fiction right?
I see it as how the ideas from that book or any other book influence people, how it leads them to act and then the overall trajectory of things based to the sum of those actions.
What do you think the logical conclusion is after generations of media continuously pushing imagery of a 2-tier society, with the lower end suffering mentally, physically, etc. ... fictional worlds where broken people are commonplace and is just the ways things are ... and that this type of society is well established... with the main plot points being the struggle to reject or reinforce that society ... and that when the unwanted parts start to break through into our society because of "progress" ?
I had to compromise and weaken the argument with that comment you quoted just because it was obvious that it didn't have to be said. But this topic was loaded from the start, I should've understood that. People only wanna see a binary hard Yes or hard No.
My stance is always "Yes there is something to it, and here's why". By saying No, end of the story. By saying Maybe it's basically gonna be the same as saying No since the entire stance can be dismantled by poking at the exceptions. I decided to commit to saying Yes.
The entire medium is muddied, yes. Some satanic influences the way I see it and some not.....
....Pretty much everything is muddied so ok I agree with you! There is nothing satanic about anime. Nothing at all. Nothing satanic at all in this world, it's just crazy talk. This legalisation of child pedophilia, transgenderism, slave-like work life balance, all of it. All of topics in KIA are all bullshit dumbass overreactions because there's no deeper meaning behind anything people do. They all just do random dumbass things that we laugh at, because we just laugh for no reason at all.
There is no degeneracy in the world today. All these lady boys and rainbow hair-coloured crossdressers should account for more of the population, it's just progress. They definitely weren't conditioned over a period of decades watching anime. They just felt like doing it one day.
Someone whose moral fortitude and spiritual grounding is so weak that certain things can lead them that far astray will be lead astray by anything. An addict is an addict because of who they are as a person, the cigs or booze are just the avenue in which is manifests.
You can say certain temptations and ideas can tip them over the edge, and it would be 100% valid. But to say it caused it to happen denies human agency while giving it to inanimate objects.
For a direct example, the Slice of Life, moe blob, romcom anime genres are a symptom of Japan's societal ills of high stress lives with an overtly romanticized view of high school and love they can no longer return to. These things aren't making them herbivore, submissive men lost in 2D. Its allowing them to have a cheap medicine to heal an ailing mental state caused by another usually unrelated problem.
Same with most Satanic anything. You don't prevent it by removing all the toys they play with. It didn't work in the 80/90s from any of our parents and it won't work now. You address why they seek these things, and remove the desire to seek them entirely. The same way you don't cure junkies by hiding needles, you need to actually commit to undoing what is making them turn to drugs.
I know you are mad because your argument got disagreed with but that's the cost of saying some controversial shit and trying to act high and mighty about it. If you want to say Anime is Satanic, you need to bring harder proof than that instead of just whining wildly about how society is so degenerate so anything they like is also evil.
No I agree with you 100% people are weak nothing helps them
Humanity is doomed to fall because there's no way to fix the addict/junky/herbivore problems
