I don't think DeSantis would have issues getting the Trump base to back him either way

If he's going to push investigations into the stolen election, destroy or reform the FBI, take control of the CIA, break up Big Tech, help MAGA populists take over the GOP, and drain the swamp (for real this time) then yeah.
