She now carries this misplaced guilt and has no way to deal with it, instinctually she knows she wasn't totally to blame but intellectually she can't blame anyone else. That manifests as self-destructive behavior that makes her both less attractive of a target and acts as a form of self-flagellation.

Nearly without fail every one of the women shown have been victims of sexual abuse.
