Personally, if I could afford it, I would literally unironically buy some sizable patch of an island in French Polynesia (Tahiti, Bora-Bora et al), New Cal or the Cook Islands and just… Settle down there.

Waiheke was just pretentious and touristy. Nice, sure, but Tahiti would be a better escape for said “elites”, IMHO, now the French nuclear testing has stopped, lol…
