It's wishy-washy as they put all these 'hate-speech' laws on the books and then maybe send the police round to intimidate but it's mostly fines, prison is extremely rare.
Because they've lost the authority to do anything else, if they tried to go full China with the amount of skepticism nowadays (lockdowns burnt out all goodwill left in the establishment) there would be mass noncompliance which is worse than violence. When people laugh in you face, carry on with their day and you haven't got the will or resources to stop them.
So what do you think will come first at this rate?
The governments of the world giving up on this as unless you go full China and imprison/harvest your dissidents it doesn't work
