Vitamin B12 severe deficiency causes permanent nerve damage. The severe form is found almost exclusively in Vegans.

Nowadays, no large Vegan org claims their diet can provide all essential nutrients and they tell their fellow cultists to take supplements.

They have a whole mythology as to explain-away why they need supplements. Stories about ''depleated soils'', ''overwashed produce'' and claims that ''cows are given Vitamin B12 supplements anyway, skip the cow and take them directly yourself''.

Except cows are not given vitamin B12 supplements. They are given cobalt supplements and make their own vit. B12 from it. Humans cannot do that with cobalt. Humans get their Vit B12 from meat.
