I taught English in Korea. One year, they hired a black teacher.
But only after they held a meeting of the Korean faculty to vote on whether they'd allow it, and then a vote of the parents to see if they'd allow it. I have no idea how close the votes were or weren't, but they hired a black teacher.
First day she's there, I'm in my high-level 6th grade class and this kid asks "hey teacher, what's a nigger?"
Yeah, uh, really glad he waited til she wasn't in the room for that one.
what do you think is going to happen if he asked right infront of the black? she gets super offended and chimp out and proved their concern about hiring a black?
