Herpes can be passed on through any fluid to blood contact, including drinking from the same glass when you've got a canker sore. Can be, not will, low chance, but can be.
Still an STI/STD.
If >95% of cases are sexually transmitted, or in other words, if becoming abstinent for a month would cut cases TWENTYFOLD, then it is important to acknowledge that as a SIGNIFICANT risk vector.
