You think just being in Bali means it'll jump on your clothes and that you'll have enough viral load from that to fly back to Australia and bring into a farm ?
That would contradict pretty much every bit of science on the subject.
Foot and mouth is hugely transmissible, the last outbreak in the UK saw the slaughter of thousands of head of cattle as well as a transport ban on all livestock. He'll you couldn't even rotate the pasture they were in. Given Australia's unique take on protecting biodiversity I'm surprised they haven't grounded flights yet, and that's before you take into account it IS zoonotic despite the difficulty it has crossing the species barrier
I don’t quite understand what is going on with the other guy in this thread…
It… It has to be a troll, right?
They’re deliberately pretending to “not know”, or “not understand”, and then coming up with heaps of conflicting information which suggests they do know, but are just trying to “gotcha” both of us…
Also, who the eff is upvoting them, and downvoting us both??
Man, this is just like Reddit. Again.
For all I know it is the same fucking troll I have had similar “discussions” with on there, smh…
Anyway, you’re right. He’s wrong.
I’m an animal biologist. I’m not coming at this from a position if total ignorance, here.
I think it’s best that we both just… Stop responding, at this point. Because this is a waste of time for both of us.
they WANT an outbreak. they WANT to destroy the food supply.
Ok, since you're not OP and not that unhinged, can you explain how banning HUMAN flights prevents a LIVESTOCK epidemic ?
i would assume it could live the 6 or so hours on someone's clothes needed to get into australia

i mean, is it really that impossible?

Yes. Not a transport ban on humans, not cloth bags that humans carry around.
Banning human flights is a ridiculous over reaction.
I gave the same info to OP here : https://kotakuinaction2.win/p/15IrKtW4jF/x/c/4Ob8dpRkqRw
We all agree Aussie politicians are insane, but OP is calling for them to be even more insane.
