Bungie asks the court to ensure that Leone "be preliminarily and permanently enjoined from harassing, stalking, or otherwise engaging in unwanted or unsolicited contact with Bungie, its employees, or Destiny 2 players."
The studio also says that "Leone infringed Bungie’s copyright in Destiny 2 as an audiovisual work each time that he used cheat software to create an unauthorized derivative work of Destiny 2." With that allegation of copyright infringement, Bungie asks for "statutory damages of $150,000 for each copyrighted work infringed," or "an amount to be proven at trial." The studio further asks that the court award damages in the amount of $2,500 for each time Leone used cheat software in the game.
To be clear: I'm saying that the lawsuit for the threats of violence are reasonable, and the lawsuit for the cheats/copyright infringements are a joke.

Depends, if they are based in California civil charges will likely have more weight than criminal ones. If he has an Antifa flag they would probably send him home with a Donut and a gold star in his forehead.
What damages can they prove though ? Emotional Damage ?
If a crime occurred, and you didn't even involve the authorities, that goes a long way to proving you weren't taking them seriously, which disproves damages entirely.
Criminal charges also don't preclude civil lawsuits.
Ah the new hate crime laws. Any ridiculous charge becomes actionable with the magic words "I felt scared for my life".
“I felt scared reading this comment”
Bungie's been shitty for years, but I want to remind everyone that Sony recently purchased them.
This is a very Japanese approach to copyright.

In-game, right? No, I do not put it past them to attempt ostracization outside of the game.

It's sad that it's necessary for you to clarify that. Our Faggit janny censors this place almost as much as the pedo site.
How is it reasonable for a civil entity to pursue civil charges for what is a criminal offense ?
This should be a matter for the state to prosecute.

Imagine cheating a game you don't own
None of them are reasonable, because people who actually intend to commit crimes dont threaten, they just do it.
