There is more to operating in the public sphere than just "winning" debates. People need to be reminded that they are not crazy and see sane voices standing up. Otherwise, they will just get demoralized.

Why do you think progressives insist on infecting everything? It's not because they think they will win you over. It's because the more the message is out there, the less crazy it seems
