RINOs are more of a thing than DINOs. RINOs like Oz can still have big money support. It is more realistic for Democrats to vote a less MAGA candidate in a Republican primary than for Republican voters to find a Democrat they'd like to support.
I'm not sure what the lesson of Oz is. I feel like if a moderate Republican type person ran as a Democrat, he would just not get a lot of support from Democrats, and being one would make his case to Republicans that much harder. Would be easier just to compete for the Republican nomination on whatever platform. I don't think there is much of a middle ground. There are plenty of independent voters because of disgust for the parties, but I don't think that makes them moderate voters. One thing Oz had going for him was he was at least initially supported by the fickle Mr Trump. There's not really such a figure in the Democratic party.
What good would it do to vote for Republican candidates in Democratic primaries? They're not even on the ballot. You mean write in?
Get a Republican candidate to run in as a Democrat in their primary and then vote them in ?
That's what Dr. Oz did as a Republican in PA and he won. Now they have 2 democrat choices for 2022.

That's what I'm saying. I'm surprised more people don't abuse the easily abused system.
Have your candidate register as a Democrat, have him present himself. That's what I'm saying!
Don't just find a D you like, put a R you like in the D primary, like Dr. Oz did in PA!
