But then they might have to admit the war is winnable, and its their own defeatism that is making them miserable and causing their losses. And then they might actually have to step up and fight, instead of just bitching and moaning about how its all over but the crying. And we cant have that, because its so much easier to just bitch and moan instead of put your nose to the grindstone and fight.
Half of it is an innate mental failure among the right.
Haidt's concept about how the Left and Right think differently, and the right responds like it is disease-averse, and so tends to isolate itself. Black-pillers do this to an extreme, and Conservatives generally are always more prepared to give ground than to take it.
Meanwhile, the Left live in a complete fucking delusion: Leftist Inevitability Doctrine. There is no circumstance where they will ever accept defeat, even if they have taken 100% losses and total collapse. They are just "on the right side of history", so therefore they will inevitably win, even if they won less today.
It is extremely dangerous to have rightists constantly giving ground, while the leftists constantly set the tempo for the conflict and initiate the fight to take that ground. Again, this is why secession doesn't work. If you're in an entangled gun fight: DON'T LET GO OF THE GUN.
I was listening to Epochs of the Lotus Eaters on: King Æthelstan, and I feel like he hit something similar. The Vikings, who had literally no care for how ruinous they were to the English, kept ravaging every single kingdom on the Isles until even Mercia had fallen and all that was left was Æthelstan in Wessex, simply because it was so far away. Even though he was a Christian, he seemed to be the only Christian in England who realized: "Holy shit, I'm all that's left, and if I fail they'll kill everyone and we will all be slaves (as we pushed the Britons out hundreds of years earlier)."
It's like we are a squadron of Man-At-Arms and every time we see the Vikings, the common retort is: "Well, what if we bribe them? Or run away?"
There's a reason military veterans, particularly marines, appear as activists on the right. They are the only ones who were trained to "Seek out, close with, and destroy the enemy." This is best described by the number of t-shirts displaying the words you see on the bad side of a claymore mine.
The other half of it is that so many young people are so emotionally crippled and terminally online, that they haven't ever been taught the needed emotional stoicism and social intelligence necessary to respond with courage and confidence. They didn't just train boys to be cattle, but cowards.
I suppose the good thing is that people on the Right are starting to learn this again. You have Bannon and people associated with him taking over territory, and you have the likes of Scott Presler (1) making it so that the Republican Party outnumbers the Democrats in registered voters for the first time ever (and most of those votes are being pushed toward MAGA types). And they are using this newfound power to start taking the fight to the enemy in turf they can win to start fighting back. And then you have Daily Wire and other Right-Wing companies and individuals starting to set up their own cultural institutions, and they are even pulling in normies with some of this stuff .
The fight back is coming, and I think the ones in charge understand that. Its why I think they have become so brazen about their corruption. Much like the plotters at the end of a financial scheme, they have pushed it as far as they can go, and so are cashing out everything they can and hoping to make it so that someone else is holding the bag when the music stops.
Of course, keeping up with the Viking analogy, resecuring territory isnt the hard part. The hard part will be dealing with the areas that have been conquered and are under the thumb of the Danelaw. Although I still think we win in the end. And so far, the world has been following the outline from a historian I watched almost a year ago.
(1): I still cant believe they let him get away from Jan. 6 stuff without an arrest, even though he is probably one of their greatest political threats. Of course, it shows that maybe they dont think he is, and that will be their own undoing.
Yeah, I don't really disagree with much of the video that I saw. I don't think there will be significant population losses from wars (beyond a Chinese Civil War), and I don't know that Africa will go through another continental sized war like the 2nd Congo War, thought that may happen.
He's obviously not aware of my arguments about the mainstreaming of irregular warfare as the primary medium of war, but that's inevitably the direction low-kinetic wars with stable populations would take. Beyond that, we agree on basically everything.
I don't think they see Presler as big of a threat as you do. He's another inner working mechanism. They've probably taken more damage in recruiting voters with Socialist and Abortionist policies annoying Latinos than they have taken from Presler's actions.
Besides, there is clearly a very personal and petty hatred for Trump. Presler isn't a Trump acolyte, nor a advocate like Banon is.
