It was as if after Bush I was deposed, there weren't supposed to be any more Republican presidents. They lost their nuts when Bush II got in, as if it wasn't ever supposed to happen.
And mark my words, it'll happen again.
Oh, and not to mention all the fear-mongering around good ol' Ronnie Rayguns. There's a reason I keep referring to him as that.
Bush 2 was clearly part of the plan for the "powers that be." He was supposed to be the final Republican president by making Republican/Conservative a dirty word you were ashamed to be associated with. That's why such a milquetoast and boring man was treated like the Devil himself.
And it worked. Literally no one under 70 will openly call themselves that. It took Trump's sheer force of personality to uncuck the right wing from its little hole of self loathing and shame, and even still those specific terms/party affiliation is hard for most.
Bush 2 was supposed to be an education president, and generally the country was focused on domestic issues. Don't forget the dotcom crash. Neoconservatism snuck in the backdoor. 9/11 was way too convenient. Bush is a simpleton, but the people behind him were/are the devil.
I always figured the powers that be had multiple factions and they looked at elections like a game. Bush's faction ("the hillbillies") wanted GW in there but at the end of the day no matter who got in would be controlled.
Absolutely will happen, with greater intensity. Just wait until he formally announces; then we'll see a worse shitrain than last time. They've had 6 years of prosecutorial blue balls because Trump is not a criminal. He just knows how to push the left's buttons and enrages the chattering classes and their whores in the media because he proved they know absolutely nothing about what is motivating the politics of the disenfranchised and demonized "deplorable" American working class.
