There's plenty of competition there. Off the top of my head I can name Razer, Corsair, and Steel Series. Logitech just serves the broadest market (offers the most products across office, home, and gaming.)
They do. Its one of those surface level things they do to appear like they are totally part of the group, but its just fashion to them. They couldn't tell you why this mouse is better than that, only that they needed it because it changed colors and matched the Logitech keyboard their boyfriend bought them.
Kinda like how Alienware is kept afloat seemingly entirely by basic white girls who want a "gaming laptop."

I just need a thumb trackball and logictech is the best one despite the button switches consistently failing at 2-3 years
