Why did he shave himself to specifically extenuate his neck beard?
There is a weird trend amongst the soibois of trying to have "quirky" beards to help them stand out among the other goony beard men. So they go for the chinstrap, or the mutton chops, or the goofy mustaches to try and create a personality.
