Not that I went there much anymore, but it seemed like one of the first anti-nonsense subreddits.

It makes me think that giving in on anything is a really bad idea, because it only moves the ball further down the field and shrinks the Overton Window further.
That's been my take as well. I went solidly from pro-gay marriage and pro-choice to being against both.
Gay marriage has normalized degeneracy and led to exactly what the religious-right warned us of. If it stopped at "live and let live", then I wouldn't give a fuck.
Abortion as a rare last option, has become "stab the baby in the face on its way out of the womb at 9 months".
I am still pro-choice, but I'll be damned if I don't experience some pleasure if my side loses - simply because some of the worst people are on my side.
I think if we told them at the time what would happen, they would tell us to stop being melodramatic, and that it's bad but nowhere nearly this bad.
See, Australia watched you guys do all that. We saw the slippery slope become a well-oiled cliff. And then we had an insanely rigged, social media lynch mob-impacted public vote, in order to give them their “rights”, i.e. give in to this shit, a couple of years after you did…
And it followed the same exact path. In everything…
I actually personally know one of the national organizers of that campaign. Not well, but I know him. He’s gone so off his fucking rocker since they won that I’ve had to cut him out of my life, despite just being a “camp fag”, and distinctly not a troon…
He’s like, at least 20 years older than me, and yet, since they “won”, he is acting like a fucking petulant spoiled child. I really… Don’t know. It’s like the arrogance and “power” has gone to their collective heads, with all that entails. It really, really is…
You also lost your gun rights.
I'm still pro-choice up to 1st trimester, maybe part way through second trimester. Which makes me a nazi woman hater, apparently.
Nah, it makes you an immoral faggot.
''Muh slippery slope!'' was the cry.
You're behind the times. California is passing a bill that gives 'pregnant persons' a month to kill their babies after birth, and if it dies they can't be charged criminally or civilly and they can't be investigated by the police. Note this protection applies to mothers only, of course.
It's supposed to protect against prosecution if you get a late term abortion or something, but the actual wording of the law basically legalizes infanticide.
Partial birth abortion doesn't involve stabbing a baby in the face. They have it come part way out and suck the brains out through the back of the skull with a sharpened vacuum tube.
Enjoy your breakfast with that mental image.
Legalizing gay marriage was a huge mistake. Have you ever read Obergefell v Hodges? It's all nonsense. There's no rational justification for legalizing gay marriage at any level, much less legislating gay marriage from the bench at the federal level. It is Roe v. Wade version 2.0; a garbage ruling by predominantly Leftist judges in order to advance the agenda, with no legitimate consideration given to the US Constitution whatsoever... all just abstractions of abstractions and "penumbras" to interpret it however is most convenient to them.
Beyond the legality of gay marriage, there's no rational or common sense argument for gay marriage either. I'm sorry, but no matter how you consider the topic, gay relationships are NOT comparable to heterosexual relationships in any way that actually matters. We conceded that feelings and emotions are more important than truth in the case of gay marriage, and it's only gone downhill from there.
You can support homosexual marriage without approving of Obergefell, just like you can approve of legal abortion while opposing Roe (as I do).
The point is that there’s no rational argument for it beyond appealing to peoples feelings and emotions.
Even if there were a rational argument for supporting gay marriage, the slippery slope is a real threat and would override all but the strongest arguments, a fact that should be obvious to everyone at this point.
Sigh It was. Hindsight is December 20/20, and such…
But yeah, it was. This is, I’m afraid, very much the correct take.
All those people got replaced by women after they won.
Same year it suddenly became LGBT, which coincidentally put women first.
