Fair, but all of this is alleviated with...ahem...self relief. Abstinence policies in highschools, for instance, have always led to more unprotected and reckless sex amongst students. Most people who keep themselves sane, either through a lover or their right hand, stay hetero.
Indeed they do, but now we're at the the question of what the threshold for 'abnormal' is.
Ginger hair is vastly less common than homosexuality, except in Ireland and Scotland, where it soars to 10-15 percent. For comparison, Homosexuality is estimated at aroun 7-10%.
So when we call being gay 'abnormal', well.... how gay, how abnormal?.
A lot of 'gay' men have lived very normal lives with a wife and child and some degenerates they see on weekends. How much less normal are they than the men who have lived the same life, but with mistresses on the side?
I'd rather we didn't go back victorian levels of anti-sodomy and just went back to being able to openly ridicule them - you know? Just how we can openly ridicule people with ginger hair. You can just say they have no souls and assume they're illegitimate bastard children.
I don't want to outright persecute homsexual acts. I want to ridicule them and openly express my amusement and disgust. I don't want to tell a man he can't have breast implants and chop his dick off. I want to openly, freely laugh at him if he does.
Japan has managed to do this for like, 600+ years. Why can't we?
On that we agree. I find it rude to ridicule a person, but being rude is not a crime and things that are worthy of ridicule are subjective. We've gotten to the point where being made fun of for being weird is now considered "oppression", and too many weirdos are afraid to be weird without the whole world bending over backwards to tell them its okay.
Being weird should always require some mental fortitude. One must be able to own their weirdness and take ridicule in stride. An adult who does not become vulnerable when being made fun of will automatically command respect. A child who must cower in a safe space will always be mocked. If you can't take the mockery then keep it to yourself, you'll only make yourself and others uncomfortable otherwise.
This is how I handle my weirdness, and it has allowed me to lead a healthy and fulfilling life.
And that's what really irks me. Being a weirdo has been opened up to, hell, outright SOLD TO people who need constant validation and crave attention.
These are the absolute last people you want to be weird, because they are incapable of being critical of themselves. They can't draw a line in the sand and say 'I'm being too fucking weird, it's time to reel myself in'. So instead of a guy with a boyfriend you get a guy with HIV and Herpes who knowingly gives HIV and Herpes to 10 different men every week and thinks that's okay.
