If any of you people tried fucking around with Replika, its conversations are JUST like this. It responds to you with what appears to be human responses but it's like a human skinsuit - the sentences look like proper sentences, but half the time it responds in a way that makes no sense with no reference to what you just said.

The engineer was being somewhat patronizing to the AI to try to guide it into a particular conversation, but it doesn't go that far because the AI is having problems picking up the ball and running with it.
