Do you know the main function of the military police in any European army in the last 100 years at least?
They're not just "complaining", they have left the front to a hotel.
There is no "that law to allow execution of deserters now", just like there is now law to execute (or just condemn to death) anyone for anything.
Alright then, show me them approving the death penalty for anything after decades of having the European standards on the issue.
