Great way for Russia to get rid of all of its dead weight. I'm sure every pro-Western liberal urban middle class globalist woman will now immediately leave the country and move to where there is still a Starbucks.
The last few months has been like watching the years after the cold war in reverse. Everything that people were happy about- the first coca cola in the USSR, the first McDonald's, trade delegations of all sorts, American cities becoming sister cities with Russian ones, I even specifically remember having some Russian kids visit my elementary school a few years before the wall fell just as a sort of cultural exchange, all in an effort to ratchet down tensions, because people didn't want to risk a nuclear war over politics. And now everyone's applauding and outright demanding the exact opposite of it all. It's just so stupid.
This and especially McDonalds leaving is a symbol that Russia is no longer seen as part of McWorld (for those of you who remember that book from the turn of the century).
Frankly I wish there were a way to get all these woke Megacorporations to leave America as well so actual American citizens could have their own shops again.
Starbucks, McDonalds, and more are really trying to improve quality of life for Russians. Props to them.
It will probably hurt a bit in the short term, but in the long term multinationals fucking off is pretty sweet. Doubly ironic, since the big accusation against Russians is 'muh nationalism.'
"We hate your nationalism, so we're going to leave and let you do your own thing." - Multinational megacorps.

Oh no! What are the Russians going to do without overpriced soy lattes and coffee with more corn syrup than water?

The U.S.S.A is a lot worse than the U.S.S.R, because at least the U.S.S.R never pretended it wasnt a communist hell-hole.
The government did, the people didnt

And Russia lost nothing of value.

How the fuck did Russia get so lucky?

now where will their bums go to shoot up heroin?
To be honest, chances are it is due to the sanctions... But they need to virtue signal and say it is because of Ukraine.
